Objectives of the California Opera programs are to assist international young artists to become self-sufficient musically and dramatically; fluent in the fields of opera theater, music, drama and voice; versed in foreign language; and able to pursue a career at the international level. Workshops, masterclasses, private consultations, and stage craft training culminate in fully staged opera, operettas, opera scenes, chamber operas, musical theater, art song, oratorio, and recitals that give each scholar of opera the opportunity to learn traditional masterworks and experience premieres of new works under the tutelage and expertise of a world-class staff.
